Engineering in crisis

Life without field of engineering is body without soul. This has always been the essence to human pattern of living. In this regard calling Pakistan a country of engineers will not be a foul statement. Even being marked as under developed state, Pakistan has a human resource more powerful then the machinery itself.
Keeping aside the economical or the developmental conditions of the state, it is evident that Pakistan produces high rated compatible engineering for the state and the world every year.
Higher Education Commission recognizes 10 high level engineering universities in federal capital Islamabad, 20 engineering universities in Punjab, 15 in Sindh and 11 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Whereas according to the population, there are only 2 engineering universities in Balouchistan whereas Azad Jammu and Kashmir conserves only one university.
This can also be judged from the demand of the course of study. Due to considerable demand, there are number of engineering institutions generating thousands of students yearly. The controversy rises when numbers of qualified engineers are compared to number of employed engineers.
Another factor because of which Pakistan is an under developed state. Inconsistent policies and non-serious attitude of authorities have resulted in unemployment of thousands of young engineers of Pakistan. This encourages immigration to foreign states.
Considering the importance of field of engineering and capabilities of Pakistani students, various countries offer scholarships to engineering students of Pakistani engineering universities that also encourage a great talented lot to move abroad for further studies or job opportunities. 8 major university of Islamabad, 12 in Punjab, 9 in sindh and 4 in Khyber pakhtunkhwa and 1 university in balouchistan is providing scholarship to considerable number of students within state and abroad. This on one hand is providing great assistance to the students and enhances their human power in the technical field that is essence of life for human.
The entire budget allocation for HEC for the fiscal year 2011-12 is Rs. 14 billion. But the country is facing more and more unemployment in almost every sector. Thus has also increased the ratio of unemployed engineers as well.
Pakistan engineering council constituted under Act 1976 interacts with the Government, both at the Federal and Provincial level by participating in Commissions, Committees and Advisory bodies. PEC is a fully representative body of the engineering community in the country. Though the wastage of human resources in this section show no real positive or constructive progress in utilization of specialized human resource being created by the engineering universities of Pakistan.
The most definite section of engineering where students get promised jobs is Army engineering core. Considering engineering one of the basic need of the defense system, Pakistan army has its own engineering core generated from its own structural step up as military college of engineering.

Military college of engineering is organized into four different wings. The Combat Engineering deals with combat engineering courses. Academics Wing that Deals with civil engineering undergraduate and post graduate classes. Military Engineering Services School imparts training in construction engineering techniques and procedures. Administrative Wing is responsible for administrative support for smooth functioning of the College. The institution also encourages all extra circular activities for the development of mental and physical strength of the students.

The treatment capacity of military engineering college is approximately sixty thousand contributing at a large scale in the development of state in peace and in crisis. This has accumulated a fine strength throughout the state, but the allocation is not satisfying because of which privatized sector of engineer is required to be advanced in settlement of refined and capable generated product.
Economical crisis have designed remarkable revolutions the world has witnessed. Along with other sectors, engineering so is facing a drastic fall predicting dangerous threats to the industry. More men with fewer opportunities create crisis, undefined devastation!
