If the historical political activities and distracting or developing circumstances are reviewed, it would not be wrong to state that lust for sovereign powers has converted every dominating move into game. Nourishing system of freedom of expression and democratic rule has also introduced many new games, one amongst which is negotiations.

Until it comes to “he that apes others will never be himself”, all democratic powers starts compelling to play game of talks. And with the disintegration of former Soviet Union, this act becomes so viable that the spectators’ starts bidding upon it.

Evolving extremism and opposition under the shadow of national policy and state’s interest, when obstacle the development and empowerment of an entity; the only appreciable game to tackle the situation is Negotiations.  This might be the reason because of which the Taliban- brought up under the guardianship of America and Pakistan- intoxicated in independence and indelicate have turned out to be a vibrant hindrance. A hindering element, intangible through war and has emphasized the seriousness of talks.

Attacks on the security convoys in Bannu and Miranshah, resulting in heavy loss of lives has proved that the confronting group is capable. The counter response by the Pakistan military in this regard through air strikes confirms the fact that the proponent was not an easy target. A view in this perspective is confusing enough to paralyze mind but this is only a dimensional view and the story remains incomplete.

Taliban, responsible for swelling the rates of Media and American congress behind the Taliban, has placed the Pakistan military into a deadly swamp. A position in where the confrontation on the grounds is followed by its own nation and negotiations is dumped in crisis. The sons of the soil have divided into combatant fractions at the hand of external elements, and surrender is inherited by neither. In such a situation, the chances of successful negotiations are well understood. For a moment, even if it is assumed, a peaceful and stable move in this regard may help in resolving many misunderstanding, complications and conflicts but the assurance muddles with the ambiguity of desire to win stronger bid by either one of the participants in the game.

In Afghanistan, Nato en-faced only death and the prolonging pivots on negotiations. For this opportunity, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Taliban can be supportive but how to proceed? Of course, through Pakistan military who is an old friend playing important role of mediation between the two parties.  

Military, with the stagnant policy of “No matter what, I am always right” if proceed for negotiations, clings to the ego whereas Taliban underestimates humbleness by associating it as humiliation to their strength. As a prostitute, indifferent to the audience, works for money, same is for talk settlements. These talks doesn’t aim independent growth instead claims external gains and benefits for personal beneficiaries. That is why, the talk’s game is only a subsequent process and the results are dependent to the bids placed. The following advances and changing face of the talk procedure, consents and disagreements are evidence to this all.

Besides, afghan war which was considered only a part of the deterrence to world’s power game has not only affected the neighbouring territories but has raised questions on the peaceful sustainability of the international communities. Along the way even after great struggle, negotiations process has renovated to an extent that it has remarked as the most expensive of all political games. Above all, in this game, there is nothing for anyone except the players.
